Location
St Catherine’s School is in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. Established in 1856, it is the oldest Anglican girls’ school in Australia.
Philosophy
The Boarding House is purposefully small and offers 60 boarding places. It’s homely atmosphere and ‘extended family’ lifestyle caters for students from the city, country and overseas. As in any family, special occasions, events and achievements are celebrated.
Staff
The Head of Boarding holds qualifications in teaching, Social Science (Residential Care) and Counselling. All boarding staff have qualifications relevant to residential care.
Christian ethos
St Catherine’s honours its strong Christian heritage and encourages every boarder to develop her spirituality.
Environment
Staff members greet the boarders as they return from School to the large central lounge room. Junior and senior year groups have their own lounge and kitchenette and all boarders have well furnished individual bedroom areas.
Safety and security
Well thought out procedures monitor the girls leave on and off the School premises. The Boarding House provides opportunities for study, outings, sport and entertainment within a safe, supportive environment.
Application process
We encourage interested parents and their daughters to make an appointment with the School Registrar to visit the Boarding House and meet the Head of Boarding.
